Brownie Troop 3735 visited Good Samaritan Hospital and delivered Easter baskets to the children's ward. The girls showed compassion and empathy to those who needed it most. They also showed great pride in representing Our Lady of Lourdes School along with their love and dedication to the Girl Scout way! These girls have shown good citizenship and are wonderful models to the OLL Community. Thank you!

After seeing a picture of the daughter of a friend of being so brave in the hospital waiting to have a spinal tap done, Keira decided she wanted to donate some of her extra long hair to an organization that donates wigs to children with cancer. Exactly one foot of hair and her hair is still long! We are so very proud of her kind and caring heart.

CONGRATULATIONS to Niason "The Technician" for winning The Gold Medal in the Submission Only World Championships today. We are so proud of all his hard work and accomplishments throughout the year leading up to this day!

Thank you for your service Zoe Nolde !

Recently, Zoe served at a non-profit community based agency dedicated to supporting the growth and development of youth and their families in the community of Huntington Station. Jack and Jill of Suffolk County Chapter 7-9 age group worked closely with all of the children there to bring awareness of famous African American through-out history for a Black History Month Celebration. Seen here, Zoe read a book to the TRI-CYA children. Throughout the day Zoe also assisted in serving them lunch and teaching them problem solving skills through play. Zoe gave of her time freely and willingly. Her attitude towards volunteering her time and heart is something to be admired. We are very proud of her and we hope that you are too.

Zoe is part of a wonderful organization called Jack and Jill. They are focused on civic, cultural and economic responsibilities. Zoe's age group was asked to participate in MLK Day of Service. This year the mothers in Zoe's age group donated gently used pocketbooks. Then, the children made 40 care packages for the YWCA Residence, a home to 193 women and mothers. Since 1987, the YWCA Women’s Residence provides counseling and treatment referral to women and mothers who are homeless. These care packages contain items a mom might need to have in her pocketbook for a job interview. Zoe and her age-group also included inspirational drawings and cards. Zoe worked very hard and even used 3 months of her allowance to purchase these items.

CONGRATULATIONS to Niason "The Technician" for winning The Gold Medal in the Submission Only World Championships on Sunday, December 11th. We are so proud of all his hard work and accomplishments throughout the year leading up to this day! Thanks to everyone that has always supported Niason, this win was for you!!

Just in time for Thanksgiving, Keira Rodriguez and her family dropped off the diaper bags she donated to the families in the NICU at Good Samaritan Hospital! Since Keira's birth and survival story was used again to help promote Prematurity Awareness Month, Keira wanted to do "something else" to help the NICU preemies and their families. After I explained to her how lonely it can feel spending holidays in the hospital we decided to do something to give the families hope for the future.
Keira used her September and October earnings to help pay for the diaper bags. After putting out the news of her intentions, our family and close friends helped Keira reach her goal proving yet again that small acts of kindness lead to greater things! Each bag held diapers, full packages of travel wipes, baby wash, shampoos and lotions, wash cloths, onesies, burp cloths, receiving blankets and pacifiers. These are truly essential items that every mom and dad need when leaving the hospital with a newborn.  Keira said It really is an amazing feeling knowing she was making people smile. We agree 100% !!!

She rocked the Runway at their annual fashion show alongside her brother, Zachary, and was awarded a medal for her hard work and dedication to the cause.
